Active Body Physiotherapy

Heart Moves

Heart Moves is a popular low to moderate intensity exercise-based program for individuals demonstrating greater risk factors of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. It also forms the maintenance stage (stage three) of cardiac rehabilitation.

Each Heart Moves class will be circuit-based, including up to 30 minutes cardiovascular training and up to 30 minutes' resistance training, depending on the individual's capabilities. The program has the advantage of being run by Heart Moves trained health professionals in a physiotherapy and rehabilitation environment.

The classes are kept small so that there is a lot of direct supervision and interaction between instructor and participants. Typical class numbers are about 4-5 participants and we run sessions at varying times throughout the week. All participants will undergo a complex one on one assessment that lasts approximately 90 minutes, which will determine extent of intial exercise programming. Then exercise classes will be made on a weekly basis with best fit to the client.

If you are interested in hearing more about our Heart Moves program and how to join the fun filled classes, please feel free to contact us immediately. We are happy to set up a meeting with you to discuss the procedures as well as a more detailed outline of the program (frequency and length of classes and typical routine)
