Active Body Physiotherapy

Breast Cancer Program

Active Body have commenced a specialised program for patients either suffering from breast cancer or post breast cancer treatment.

The program involves both hands-on physiotherapy treatment and individualised exercise and rehabilitation programs for clients who require exercise intervention as a means of reducing associated risk factors of chronic illness.

The primary role of our physiotherapists is to assist in minimising muscle and joint dysfunction, improve shoulder ROM, lymphoedema and scar tissue management, reduce pain from associated conditions and help plan physical activity programs that are best suited to the individual.

The program is overseen by our two senior physiotherapists, Vanessa Sutherland and Trudi Crapp. Understandably, due to the nature of the types of surgeries or treatments that you may have already undergone, it is of the utmost importance that you feel comfortable with a female therapist when massaging and treating in sensitive areas.

Patients will receive a Breast Cancer Information Package which includes information on breast cancer, the common side effects, appropriate treatment, and exercises for you to perform in the comfort of your own home.
